Behavioural Changes in Children
According to a survey conducted in 2022:
Age Bracket | Screen time (computer/ phone) |
8-10 years | 6 hrs |
11-14 years | 9 hrs |
15-18 years | 7 hrs |
It does not count the time they spend on screens for their schoolwork. Most of this screen time is spent in vain scrolling and watching random videos. This time can be spent on something more beneficial, interactive and efficient. Shouldn’t we channel their attention to something more productive? Something that leads to effective habits and personalities.
Introduction to the DLCC
So, here is TutorBees.net - inviting young children to join our DLCC - ‘Digital Literacy and Coding Club’! This club is specially designed to create a fun and healthy environment for children who learn while interacting with other children with different backgrounds, this exposure being a side benefit from the club. We’re able to do this because one of the best features of this club is that it’s online. This is why, your children can join and interact for intellectual and educational purposes with other children in the comfort of their home, or even during travelling. It is like an evening or After School Club where children will take part in fun quizzes and competitions, for example, some can create a sense of awareness about online safety and digital life.
Programming, Coding, Technical Courses
Furthermore, all members will be taking part in a coding course. Our coding courses are structured into bite-sized sequenced programs, each of 6 weeks. The children maintain their interest and are able to nicely conclude each part with a certificate and if needed, take a break before they take the next one. This has been much appreciated by the children as well as parents as they are able to space out their learning as per their convenience.
Tools and skills
We appreciate that every child may not want to code. Such children can opt to learn the use of online tools that are helpful in the creation of animation, digital graphics, or video editing. All of these activities and lessons will be conducted by trained and well-experienced tutors.
Exposure, career paths
We regularly conduct “Meet the Expert” sessions for students who want to know more about careers to answer questions like:
-
What is it like to be a “Cloud Engineer”?
-
How much can I earn if I become a “Game Developer”?
-
Is programming very difficult?
-
If I do not like programming, can I still take up a career in any IT field?
In this series, members of the DLCC meet different professionals who share how they entered the field, and progressed to their current level. Children can ask questions to get further clarity.
Why should you join this club?
And if you’re wondering why opt for this specific program when there are multiple options? Then as a parent, you need to realize that the digital landscape of the world is rapidly changing now. Researchers believe that it’s time to give more attention to digital technologies, build digital skills in young children and youth to create an ever-advancing society where youth is empowered and enabled to take informed decisions about their career. But for this education, we need to change its pace from time to time with the help of academic specialists in in this field. It is not easily possible for schools fulfil this need as schools have to catch up with the changes in academics.
This is why TutorBees.net is here with its team of renowned, trained and specialized tutors who are happy to provide a secure, harmonious, interactive and transparent working and learning environment for your children.
